Nav conversion to DVD Player

I recently bought a 2005 X5 with the BMW DVD navigation system installed. The dealer "unofficially" informed me that there is a way to modify the navigation system to play normal, movie DVDs. Can anyone send me instructions on how to do this?

It converts your navigation screen to act as a DVD player, TV screen, and/or reverse backup camera. You need the proper equipment to enable each capability and I hate to say it, but it's not cheap...but I think it's worth it.
