I just got moved to a job where a lot of driving will be involved, and I got a new M3 about a month ago without navigation. Does anyone know if the navigation can be put in pretty easily or if it's a really hard thing to do? I'm atleast thinking it can be done but not sure...

yea just go to a BMW main dealer and ask them to do it. i'm not sure how much it'll cost but they can advise you on that. if the worst happens you can easily pick up a new head unit with flip out screen. But the BMW is great as long as the CD/DVD is the current one!!!!

I was in the same position. Instead of trying to duplicate what would have come from the factory, I bought a Kenwood KT911 head unit and NAV unit. It's a flip screen that uses touch screen for all controls. The maps and routing are really terrific. As a bonus, it controls audio, DVD, TV and my Music Keg (Phatnoise) MP3 player.

You would have to go aftermarket. The OEM Nav is only available from a factory installed.

That sounds fantastic.

How much did it cost? Does it get in the way or look awkward? Does it stick out as looking like it didn't come with the bmw. I don't want to install anything that gets in the way of vents or anything like that.
