Hello, I have a preowned 2000 528 sport package. It has been making a whistling sound especially at 75-80mph. The sound is reduced when slight pressure is applied to the accelerator. After a road test and inspection, the tech at BMW said that it's due to the suboptimal condition of the Continental tires, even though I think the condition of the tires is fair. Has anyone else had the same problem? By the way, the tech recommended Bridgestone. Thank you

Welcome to the board! [welcome]

Don't know about the whistle, but I have Continentals and they suck. They're noisy and unstable. But they're still in great shape, so I'd hate to trash them and buy new ones. I didn't realize how bad they were until I installed snow tires this winter. I was expectiing more noise and a worse ride, but I got just the opposite. It was much quieter and very stable. That's when I knew the Contis were poor tires.
