Hey all,

I've got an 87 325i 5-speed convertible. I recently bottomed out the back end coming off a curb and now, about a week later, I started to hear some evil sounding noises.

When I am in neutral decelarating, or in gear decelerating, theres a knocking sound that is in time with my speed, as I slow down the knocks space out accordingly, etc. When accelerating there's no sound except for when the clutch is engaged. When idling there is also no knocking. The knocking can get quite violent and start the car quaking a little. The sound appears to be emanating from beneath me and behind and when I roll down the window it does not get louder (ie: I can't hear it better from outside the car). I've not had the rear bushings replaced yet and their time is coming due but I'm hoping its something different since I haven't got a lot of dough having recently had everything else brought up to snuff.

Any help is appreciated but keep in mind I'm a rank amateur when it comes to cars, feel free to email me directly.
