I am quite intrested in a new bigger X5 with a bit more room in the back, and i am wondering when this car might be released. Also i could have sworn i saw pictures of the new X somewhere on this sight or at least pictures of a modle of it. Anyway i cant seem to be unable to find them. If anyone knows the exact location of these pictures or wherei can find pictures of the new X5 i would be quite happy.
Information on this car seems to be quite elusive.

Does anybody else think that the next gen. X5 looks little changed from the current X5, size-wise? It doesn't look bigger at all; how are they going to cram 7 people in there?

Just put another seat belt in the back seat and call it such? Or are they considering a third seat like the Dodge Durango?
To get 7 seats, they'd have to put in another row of seating. From those pictures, I just don't see how another row could fit.

Yeah, the X5's trunk is already pathetically small. But then again the X5 as a whole is a big vehicle on the outside with little room on the inside. Perhaps they are making much better use of space this time around?

They're adding two more seats , to make it 7, on the roof rack.

Now you get to enjoy your BMW in a whole new perspective!

Two things. Either the spy report is full of garbage, or the picture doesn't adequately represent its actual size. If you think about it, It looks like they made it similar in size to the Navigator. Just like the X5 and X3, the X3 looks so fragile and small compared to the X5 on a side by side comparison, yet in reality the dimensions are quite similar...

According to the March 2005 issue of the Roundel in an article by Bob Roemer, "New X5 restrained: Insiders describe the design of the new X5 as restrained - at least by Chris Bangle standards. The word is that when the third row of seats is used, there's not much room for baggage or cargo..." Looks like the 3rd row is where they are headed!

Might I suggest an Acura MDX or Honda Pilot instead? I own the honda and love it.
