I am starting to think that my bmw is a lemon! Long story:
A few weeks ago I changed the plugs in my 95 525i, after about a day with the new plugs the car started to loose power and idle a little ruff. Now when I drive the car it hesitates untill around 3k rpms and now I can press the gas to the floor and it doesnt really go. I decided to check the codes, the code that came up was the 1215 MAFS code. So I took the MAFS off and cleaned it up with electrical cleaner. That did nothing! I have been driving the car around like this for a few days and now the engine is making a tick tick tick tick sound... I would just take the car to a shop but I dont think I can pay for it right now, so you guys are my only hope! I tryed the engine codes again and I got a 1444 so I have no clue what to do! PLEASE HELP ME GUYS! [?|] [bigcry]

lol its not a lemon.
its an abused car that the previous owners
didn't take care of.
did u screw the plugs all the way in? the problem
didn't occure b4 the plugs? first thing u should do
is go backwards and put old plugs in.

What were the symptoms before or what caused you to replace the plugs?

Other theories:

Did you check the gap on each new plug? They sometimes are not gapped properly out of the box or get bent if mishandled.

Depending on the original problem, it sounds like the hesitation could be ingnition related. Specifically, spark plug wires, depending on the quality and duration of service can deteriorate to the point where the spark crosses through and arcs to the engine or another metal source. I've seen it happen in one of my older cars. That could be the source of the tick but maybe not. Stick you head under the hood and listen for the tick and see if it could be in the area of one of the wires. It probably is not unless the wires are original and you have a harsh operationg climate.

the tick noise is probably just the overhead valves. You hear it more because you are searching for any noise which may be a problem.
Started having a rough idle in my 5 and changed the plugs one at a time. No change. Then checked all the wires and cap visually, all OK.
A friend suggested misting the engine at night in the dark to check for a spark jump. Using a spray bottle filled with water I found lots of sparks around the distributor cap and found it had a hairline crack when it was removed and cleaned .
Maybe this will help in the search for a problem.
btw bosch platinum 2 or 4 come pre-gapped so that eliminates that problem.
Good luck [wave]
