New M5 with Manual Transmission

is there even a 7 speed manual anywhere?
imo the manual will be a beefed up 6 speed. i barely use the 5th gear as it is on my 6 speed, so i really don't know how useful the 7 gears will be. but that's just my opinion. we'll see if i ever get to try out the smg iii![[:D]](/images/smilies/biggrin.png "Big Grin [:D]")

Yep, I read the article too. You're right: we do have a voice--our wallets! The American consumer market is still the largest in the world, almost $5 trillion dollars more than China!!! Nearly every firm that produces a manufactured good want's a piece of the American pie, and they're generally eager to please. For all the talk about BMW trying to please Chinese/Asian costumers, it's good to know that we still have a lot of weight to throw around.... ![[whip]](/images/smilies/icon_smile_whip.gif "Whip [whip]")
Honestly, call me crazy but I never really cared to see the new M5 with a manual transmission. This is definitely great news, but the M5 is a $90K supersport sedan and I have a feeling that mainly business men will buy it. I don't see the M5 as one of those "week-end cars", more as a daily driver. I would think that these business men would prefer and appreciate the better performance and inreased practicality comapred to stick shift.
Sure, I hate the M3 posers who don't know stick and get SMG just so they can say "I have an M3" but for a $90K sport sedan, I think all the non-enthusiasts will simply not buy one.
