i ordered a new release cable w/ a lever attached to it from bavauto, i have a 87 325e..

i cant seem to get the release cable threw the little rubber hole that leads the release cable to the engine bay.. the plastic piece on the top of the release cable seems to block it from going threw, i already lubed the hole up many times with different attempts pushing it in at different angles, it just wont fit threw.. someone help me please?

this is the rubber piece that i mean.. i found it off a website

it looks like that from the inside of the engine bay, im trying to get the release cable threw it coming from the inside of the car going into the engine bay

if you have the whole piece (new part) just get out your side cutters and cut the cable close to the firewall and pull through, get angry with it mate, if you dont need to save it just break it!!!
good luck.

^^^^^^^^^^I have that one too <Little red light says "Tail light" get out of car and tap lense to get it to work. Failed a Warrant of Fitness on it once.

Inspector: "Your tailight doesn't work"
Me: "Yes it does" - turn on lights, walk around and tap it - on it comes...
Inspector: "Oh -OK" Pass. [:p]
