I recently purchased a '98 Z3 2.8L with 61,000 miles.
I'm looking for advice re: a normal maintenance program and I don't trust dealers.
Does anyone know of any specific mechanical problems the Z3 typically has as they get older? Any specific engine or rear end problems?
This car seems to be in excellent condition and is very quick!
Any advice would be appreciated.

Love my "Z-ster"

I bought the car for my wife, but I enjoy the heck out of the car. [clap] In fact we bought a nice cover for it and use it as our fun car. There's just something about pulling the cover off the car Saturday morning and driving it to our destination that just makes the trip more exciting. [driving2]

I have had only one problem with the clutch and BMW replaced it under warranty.

Glad to have you in the "Z" realm.

One thing, if you don't want your gas gauge to bounce back and forth here is what to do. When you are filling up and the gas nozzle automatically shuts off DO NOT pump any more gas in, leave it at that. The problem occurs when you try to over fill you gas tank, it does something to the sending unit. I have a '99 and have had not problems with my gas gauge.
