Hey all. I just purchased a 1988 325i convertible. This car has been my dream car since that specific year so i was extremely happy to get it.
So far i haven't encountered any serious problems. It drives and gets me where i am going. The heat works(since it's 2 degrees in michigan sometimes, this is wonderful), the lights all work, etc.
My question is what can i expect? The odometer is working so i have no true idea of how many mile it has. It's stuck @ 173, 802.
I take classes at the local colege and one of them is Automotive repair. We get 50% off any part we order thru the parts counter in class. So i'm lucked out there. The only problem that i know for sure is a bad wheel bearing. My instructor has already told me we'll fix it on Saturday. Also, the idle control valve is on it's way out. The person who owned it before i had recently done oil change, new snow tires on the rear, new pad and brakes all around.
I'm really hoping to restore "Janet"(named after the brunette on THree's Company). I'd like to know if i actually have to buy the whole light if i want to change the head lamps to halogen? Can I swap my originals out with the Halo Effect ones? The Angle eyes? Also can someone recommend a reputale place to acquire some clear tail lamps? What BMW is most compatible when looking for lil treats to spice her up? I'd love some suggestions?
Also, I'd like to find a place where i might be able to procure some nice decals for my windshield?
Also how do i set the TEMP gauge on the dash? I have no idea why it simply says 30 degrees c when we use F ? I don't want to set the code because i haven't got any of the informatin for the car...

- 30 C means that the little sensor is either...

disconnected
broken
or gone.

it sits on driver side air brake duct.

have one here if you need it $ 15 shipped.
