There's a bleed valve on the slave cylinder (near front of gearbox on passenger side). it is a wee nipple that you can loosened with a spanner (6mm or 8mm I think from memory). Much easier with 2 people.

Loosen, depress clutch, tighten, release clutch and repeat ensuring reservoir is kept topped up. Have a container to catch the fluid - It is quite caustic and if left on concrete will damage a nice floated finish, and will definitely wreck your paint.

And you need to find out where the leak is? I have never had a clutch fluid leak in any of the three manual transmission BMW's I have owned...even after 164k on one of them.

Good point. The reservoir plastic hardens over the years and may have cracked, and the rubber lines go - I know as I have done a few auto-manual conversions and when stripping the manual wreck for parts, the rubber lines ALWAYS need replacing as they usually look much worse for wear. Also both slave and master cylinders have a habit of letting go.
