Nov 02 build date ? MY02 or MY03?

Hi I am interested in an M3 with a build date of Nov 02 but a compliance date of 02/03

Is this considered an MY02 or MY03 M3?

The dealer is telling me it's an MY03

That should be a '03.

Check the 8th digit (counting backwards from the right) of the VIN
If it is XXXXXXXXX2XXXXXXX - then it is a 2002
If it is XXXXXXXXX3XXXXXXX - then it is a 2003
This works with all cars built since the 80's, only for 2000 the digit is an X, 99 it is a Y, and so on.

I've heard the MY03 models have LED tail lights, which distinguishes it from MY02
