I just failed emission test with a p1397 error code. The Mass state inspector said it came up as MFR Controlled Ignition System or Misfire. I have a 2000 Z3 with 196k on it. No oil burning, but slight excess carbon in tailpipes-- any sugestions or help--thanks

Thanks-- after looking up camshaft sensors, there is a front and a rear. Any idea which is sensor "B" bank 1? Any wiring diagrams avaiable out there?

I can tell you Bank ! is on the passenger side.
