odometer quit working

i have a 1986 325e and the odometer just stopped working today any suggestions?

William_ace, did you get your odometer fixed? I have an 86 325 es that has the same problem. I need to know how to get the cluster out of the dash. Does it come through the front, or somehow from underneath the dash? I suspect the front after the plastic housing is removed. I don't yet have a manual so I have no information on the subject. Would like to talk to someone that has performed this procedure.....

my odometer stoped working aswell, at 280 000kms. is this a common things in e30s?

well hi guys my odometer stop working too, and I found that it is electronically controlled by a sensor on the rear diff., make sure this sensor is not broken or the wires coming from it. also check all your fuses. I have a 1990 e30 320i cabrio european model.

would the rear diff sensor be differant in earlyer e30s? i have no idea how they work

if your speedometer isnt working, your odometer wont work. if your speedometer is working, take the instrument cluster out and check for a loose connection.
