Oil Change

My 2005 525i has alerted me that I am due for an oil change in 200 more miles. I only have 9300 miles on the car. I happy to do it, but what happened to the 15k BMW recommends. Now, I know I'm a little heavy on the gas pedal, but a service so soon. Any thoughts from the board. .........Thanks guys

The service indicators go by how hard you push the car, temperature, and etc. Probably not an accurate way to measure the oil health...but oh well. I'd get it done anyways.

yes, BMW says 15,000 but I, like you am about 200 miles from the oil change, though my car has just over 12,500 miles on it. In seeing others comments on several boards, your mileage, while on the low side, is not out of line. Besides the pain in the a** of going to the dealer, it's on their nickle...
