on board computer light

Hi there,

I´m new on this forum so be gentel.

I´ve got a e30 325is and i´m having a problem with a light that bugs the shit out of me, the light is on the on board computer which is on the roof panel, the brake light comes on after a few minutes,if the car car idel´s or when driving, I´ve checked the fuses and the globs and its contacts and all is fine, can any one help me on this subject help will be appreciated.[bigcry][pray]

All our e30's with the check control panel (above our heads) illuminates "brake lights" upon ignition start up.
This is because the car hasn't "seen" the brake light circuits continuity yet, and if all your brake light globes are working, and the contacts are clean, then the led should go out the first time you press the brake pedal.
If not, I'd suspect bad "un-genuine bmw wiring" or a faulty check control unit.

Also, why not post some pics of your little bimmer in this section, It would be great to see you revisit often.

e30's didn't come with a high-stop brake light in the rear window. many countries require these. Sometimes the addition of a high stop light (esp. high wattage) will result in this fault.

It may also be caused by faulty wiring as doughnut suggests, or water getting in somewhere.
