Hello fellow BMW enthusiasts,
I have removed the valve covers from my 98 540i to replace the gaskets. The paint has bubbled off and needs help. The valve covers are magnesium. I cannot fing any information on stripping and repainting them. Unfortunately, this is holding up the completion of this project. PLEASE HELP if you have had any experience with this process. PS I bought my car new and it now has 120,000 miles on it. It still runs great!
Thank You,
Tom

I assume hi-temp paint will work?
They have those at auto shops as well as Walmart.
I've known people who used them on engine components and brake calipers.
But how good or long they last, I have no idea.
