Jeez, That thing really IS in excellent shape!! I almost don't believe it! How much did you say you paid for it? (You're in the right section).
MAN, I'd love to see what it looks like underneath (don't worry about taking pics of that).
What can you do to make it look better? Well, the paint is beautiful, the rims look brand new, the interior looks brand new. Maybe paint the front skirt (I've never seen a front skirt like that) and the mirrors to match the body colour (yes we spell "color" with a "u"), and maybe get rid of the mud flaps. Maybe see if you could polish up the bumpers a bit.
HOLY CRAP! your car looks amazing! It could pass for a '91 if you couldn't see the bumpers. That being said, you could get some aftermarket bumpers instead of the "diving boards", but on the other hand, I would leave it like it is. You would never find an example like that around here.
Is there anything wrong with it?

get rid of the diving boards, maybe button up that front spoiler, get rid of the 4x4 suspension, and think about doing a shift lever from a 328is or an M Roadster. your car looks great, the leather and paint look incredible. nice car dude!

I believe that my dad paid about 5k for it. It has only had one other owner and the guy kept it in his garage with a cover on it, kind of a neat freak. For the first month the guy would come by our house to make sure it was ok. pretty weird. But it really is amazing. I dont wanna "pimp it out" me and my pops love BMW's. I just want it to look more buff and have a little more ponies in its giddy-up.

If you want it to look better, a nice set of rims would be a great start. and lower the suspension. You should be able to do that for under $3K. It could probably use a CD/MP3 player, and full set of speakers, a couple subs and amps, and satelite radio. Chip it, exhaust and intake.
Do what you'd like though, these cars are very easy to make them into exactly what you want. It's hard to find any that look the same.
$5K is a bit more that I thought you'd pay, but it looks like it might be worth it. It's great that your car is older than you!

Beautiful car! That's the cleanest 325e I've seen.

I like Frolf's suggestions. The shift lever he is talking about is swapping out the lever that the shifter knob is attached to for one that is from a 328is or an M roadster - that will lower the position of the shifter knob and significantly shorten the shift throws.

I'm not sure what the deal is with that front spoiler - I've never seen one that looked like that before. It looks like the mounting screws could use a little tightening, though.

The single best thing you can do to wake up the performance of that car is to put a chip in it. Get one from Turner Motorsport. It'll add 24 hp and 28 lb ft and raise the rev limiter to 5300 rpm. And those are real, very proven gains, not just some numbers they make up to sell their chips. From what I've heard, it is amazing what it does for the performance in the 325e. Only drawback is that you then have to run at least 91 octane.

Nice car!

Beautiful example of a well looked after motor car!
try to keep it as close to original as possible (dont make changes you cant go back on easily, eg. Cutting a hole in the dash or something)
Change your radio for sure, put a nice cd player and sound system in :)

Is that metalic green? my eyes cant tell....

looks like a pewter-esque color. I agree with e30m42cab, the front spoiler needs painting, and the mud flaps need to go. It really is a beautiful car. I had an 87 that was that imaculate on the inside as well. And be grateful, it looks like that on board computer/clock (not sure which one it is) still works. The outside could use some work though. New wheels and suspension may be not as high up on your list as getting those extra ponies, but they're gonna be needed once the ponies are there. But maybe it's just me (I was never a fan of those wheels) The bumpers are really your decision and depend on how much you really wanna throw at it. With that front spoiler painted, and maybe paint underneath the back bumper as well, and those bumpers won't look so bad. I'm also a fan of painting the little details, such as the mirrors and the front grille (if it's faded at all) But overall, the cleanliness of the car will help you in the long run. 5k seems like a lot for a car that old, but for that one, it seems like the right amount.....oh, and about the owner, I once followed a guy for 5 miles because I thought it was my old 94.

I've got a Turner Motorsport chip installed in the ECU sitting in a drawer at home... I'd sell it to you, but I don't know the details of shipping over the border, and receiving payment.

I'd don't know that there's any big deal between Canada and the states. As far as shipping is concerned there should be no problem. The only thing is it might be a tad expensive depending on who you send it through. (I work for FedEx).

Well the first mods i want to do will of course be the cheapest. I definitely want to put a ship in, new short shifter, new suspension, intake, CD/MP3 player w/system, than rims, body kit, and than engine work. gotta get my priorities straight.

Well, I'm a shipper, so I have access to Fedex, UPS, Purolator, DHL, Dicom, etc every day, But it would be a question of trust as far as trading the chip for the money. That is if Zach even wants the chip. It's $249 or something new, or maybe $300, and if he'd want it removed from the ECU or not.

is it for a 325e?

about the lever, you can do a nice ssk, but my level was about $60 from the dealership, and the various odds and ends (just tell the parts guy what you're up to and most likely he'll know what to do) were about $10. It made a huge difference.

I believe the color is Bronzit

...i feel that the color is somewhat of a light tan. dont know the exact color. And HELL YA I would be interested in purchasing a chip. Depending on if it would give me the same upgrade as the chip that jrt67 suggested and the price you are suggesting is more than a brand new one. so...idk. and I dont really have money right now. And the short shift sounds pretty easy to throw in.
