Ok I am already getting fed up with my 95 525i! I am having issues with the air flow into my engine. I took my air flow meter off today and cleaned it with electrical cleaner. That didn’t help at all, the engine still has a huge loss of power and when I hit the gas it hesitates, sputters until you get up to 3k rpms. So I pulled it apart again to look at it and noticed that the butter fly flap that is suppose to open and close to let the air into the engine ( I think it is meant to open and close with the throttle??) is stuck open?? Is it suppose to be open all the time and not move when you hit the gas? I can move it by hand but other than that it wont move even when its all assembled because I can see the cable that pulls it open and closed, and it doesn’t move??? Please help me! I also noticed that the engine is putting out a code of 1215 which is AIR FLOW METER, but I don’t think that’s it because the butterfly flap isn’t even moving???

calm down... I wish I had a 525i... even one with problems...

First and foremost... is your air filter dirty?
2nd Are you talking about the throttle plate? If so then try closing it manually. Maybe your throttle cable is stuck.

Check those out!

have u tried to follow the cable back to its origin to see where or even if it sticks because i think it is supposed to move in direct corolation with the feul pump, which is controled by the gass pedal. But any way try to find a catch and give her some lube.
