My b/f took delivery of a E39 Alpina B10 3.2 1998, number 88, today. When we test drove it last weekend it misfired once but had been standing for weeks with no petrol, it only did this once and drove perfectly for the rest of the test drive. Its drove great all day but on our way back home tonight it misfired again and finally cut out. There is fuel going in as the cat STINKS and pops louder as you accelerate (no spark) so it doesnt go. This lasted for around 10-15 seconds then was fine. We re-fueled up with super unleaded and went for a drive, it misfired about 15 mins later a few times, but now is constantly flat and is hesatant like it just doesnt want to go, we came home as we didnt feel like getting stranded Has anyone ever heard of any problems like this?????

Obviously we are going to ring the garage tomorrow but any advise would be appriciated. [:(] [:(] [:(]

Sounds like it might just be the coils. Easy fix, not TOO expensive. You wont go broke and he can probalby replace them himself.

The Alpina B10 is an absolutely awesome car. Congrats on finding one.
