Please Help!!!

Hi, I have a 1995 M3 and i have a problem with the idle.Not every time but when I slide into neutral at idle the rpms are going up and down between 500 and 1000 until I come to a full stop.And when doing about 75 mph when steady on the gas pedal the MPG needle is moving just very litle from left to right to left to right all the time, then when i floor it the needle will hide above the 8 then come down again to the 10-12 and go back up again and feel like playing with the gas but im stedy!After 4000rpm everything goes away and it accelerates like it should (I think)!!!Also I have some lag with accelerating when pressing the gas harder!Most importatnt tho this all happenes when the engine has warmed up!When cold it doesnt do any of theese!Can someone tell me what to do cuz its driving me crazy???

Hi there,
I'm having a similar problem as you (slightly different but the idle's playing up just the same).
Wondered if you resolved your problem, I could do with ysome advice, I'm a novice a mechanics.

yeah i fixed it!the engine is still surging but not that much and the thing with the needle is gone.i changed O2 sensor and it runs realy good.If the simptoms are the same on your car and if the exaust smells funny its that im sure!And the surging will go away eventualy i was reading another article on O2 sensors!
