Power steering question for ya?

My 87 325e threw a belt for the alt/fan yesterday. So I replaced it and had to remove the PS belt and some other belt to change it. When I put it all back together with everything snug the car ran great. My problem is and this is where my question is. My PS seems to have gone to more of a power assist steering and I can't figure out why? Any ideas? Thanks Joe

Considering all you changed was a belt nothing should have changed. Are you sure your fluid levels are correct, belt tensions correct, etc?

The first thing I did was check the tension and fluid. Just curious if the tension may be too tight?

Does the pump whine when you turn the wheel? I slower speeds does it bind or jerk at all?

It never whines, but the steering has some tension when I am turning.

It could be overtight,try backing off the tension just a bit.
