power windows, cigarette lighter

The power windows in my 84 318i are not working, as well as the cigarette lighter. i had the exact same problem about a year ago, and the fault turned out to be a wire tap on the ground wires. i removed the tap and soldered the joint, and everything worked fine throughout the summer and most of the winter, but when i removed the drivers side door switch to inspect it because of poor performance (you had to press pretty hard to get the window to go up) i failed to note the sequence of the four wires that connect to the switch, so after i hooked it back up and tried to move the window, the entire circuit quit working. i checked, double-checked and even replaced the fuse, no results. after reviewing the schematic in my bentley manual, i have the idea that the circuit breaker is at fault. i have looked and looked for this part, but dont know what it looks like or where it might be. any ideas? or it may not be the circuit breaker...and if it matters, the car is a two-door. Thanks
