The 2006 models would need a flash programmer, which reprograms the memory in the existing computer, rather than actually replacing the memory chip.

However, I don't think that you'll find anything available for the E90. The latest software coming from BMW is reported to be pretty well optimized, so gains from reprogramming aren't like they used to be 5 - 10 years ago.

IMHO, the best people to answer this would be a BMW performance company that sells the Jim Conforti Shark Injector & chips. They should be able to tell you if anything is in the works.

www.bimmerworld.com is building an E90 Touring race car with modified racing engine management software, they would be a good place to start. You could also check with www.turnermotorsports.com .

Don't waste your money. Performance chips provide significant HP and Torque increases for turbo charged cars, but for normally aspirated engines you won't get anywhere near that kind of increase.

no i don´t think so. the displacement is a really different. the power comes from there. it is not as with the E36 325 and 328 who has the same displacement but different manifold and software.

sly is perfectly right. chips only lead to goos results with turbo engines. turbo diesel mainly. turbo gazoline engines also get their share of power but also not as much. NA engines are not worth the chip. at least not if that is it. with new hardware that is again a totally different story
