Problems taking off caliper bracket BOLTS, HEEEEELP!!!

Hi,
I was trying to change the front brake rotors on my 87 325 today, but I came to a stall with the caliper bracket holding bolts (the 2 large bolts). I soaked them with penetrating fluid to free them up and waited for about 2 hours, used 3 feet long arm on top of my wrench to try and loosen them up, but nothing helps, if I push too hard the wrench just flies off. ANY TIPS/SUGGESTIONS what else can I try? I don't want to mess-up the bolts by pushing too hard, but I don't see what else can I try?

Another weired thing was that my right side pads were worn off almost completely, when the left side pads weren't that bad yet. The right -outer pad was worn to the metal, so it made a lot of noice when braking. Any idea why such asymmetric wear can happen?

Man, it's all seized up. I've had to let bolts on my old '86 soak for at least 24 hours before they move. I'd tell you to try an impact driver, but there's no room to swing the hammer. You could try heating the bolts up with a torch, but not while they're soaking in penetrating fluid. Try tightening them a little bit... see if they'll turn that direction... losen, and tighten, losen and tighten.... you could try that. My favourite brute force tool is my 36" Breaker bar with the 3/4 inch drive. That usually does the trick for me if my air tools don't have the guts. I'd just let it soak overnight, and re soak it. I like putting a pipe over my wrench, and smashing it with a hammer... kinda ghetto but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Everything is wearing unevenly because you're guide bolts are probably all seized up too. Might be time for new calipers all together. (The car's almost 20 years old now) Make sure when you put it all back together, you use a little antiseize, and torque the bolts to the right spec., and this will make the job easier next time.

Anyways... just keep them soaking, and just keep leaning on the ratchet, or breaker bar, or wrench. The bigger the better. ...and please make sure you're turning the bolts the right way. That's all I can think of, hope it works out. [thumb]

Common. Not sure of why, but I changed mine last night and there was uneven wear also.

You should definatly try bleeding your system just make sure that you have fluid flow to all calipers.. if you have a clog somewhere between the MC and caliper, you could definatly have uneven wear,, more than likely its a stuck caliper, but its all a process of elimination,, as far as the stuck bolts, acetlyne torches work nicely, but watch your lines!!
