Hi guys i just wanted to get your guys opinion on purchasing an e36 M3...I dont have 20k to buy one that has relativley low mileage so when i was shopping around i came across some that were going for about 10k-14k that had salvaged titles. When i asked some of my friends they said that as long as i got a theft recovery salvaged title one and not one that had been in an accident then it should be fine. I know it would not have any resale value but thats fine. I just wanted to know what you guys thought.....

I would never buy any salvage title car. A friend purchased a pickup that he thought was a clear title and it turned out to be a theft recovery. It had been dumped in a river in Utah and has about 10 pounds of sand up under the dash. I know another who purchased a theft recovery and it turned out to have been trashed by the low lifes who stole it and "restored" by a body shop. Had electrical problems, alignment problems, and later found to have a cracked frame. When you buy it knowing it is a theft recovery or salvage title you waive all rights to future problems.
