Radio Code?????

Can anyone help me out. I diconnected the battery to reset the computor, you guessed it, radio needs code. My lovely wife punched in a bunch of numbers and now it shows CODE WAIT. Any suggestions or tips. Trying to avoid a trip to the dealership. [?|] Thanks Jeremy

I believe you are out of luck - you will have to take it to the dealer. If it hasn't changed, the radio locks if you punch in the wrong code 3 times.

Next time, call the dealer and he can fax/email you the radio code.

Someone might know how to get past this.

if you have the right dealer, they will help you out. i pulled my radio out, of a car i bought
pre-owned. i sold it and obviously needed the code. my dealership gave me the code----
--no charge!!

yeup that same thing happened to me .. got jipped too .. paid 35 bucks for the radio code at the dealer and ive never really had to use it again after i punched it in .. but i kept the code just in case .. heh

you should have the code on a little plastic credit card like thing in you deal package with the owners manual and all that other crap. i got it with mine and i bought it "pre-owned"

I know this is way way too late, but for future reference, you can reset the code on your BMW's radio by putting the keys in the ignition, turning to "Acc", and leaving the car for about an hour with the radio off (I think its actually 45 min, but leave it for an hour). This will reset the code entry prompt so you can then enter in the correct code.
