Hi all. I think I read on here somewhere that the rear windows in my model BMW sometimes jam. Is anyone familiar with that string. I'd like to see what people have to say so that I'm a little prepared when I take it into the dealer.

Also, the car was not maintained by BMW. I think it was a fleet car for a corporate exec and was maintained by their own guys. Was wondering, this is my first BMW, and it's near mint for its age. Should I only use BMW to service it? That means taking it into Manhattan.

If there answer to the above is, No, BMW dealer not necessary -- and someone here knows of a good place in Brooklyn, NY -- et me know... Thanks much!

Hi Jon ! I am quite aware of the rear window jamming . Very common problem, design or engineering failure. BMW has an outstanding service personel. Although they are not shy about introducing to you the premium backlash. Finding a good independant sevice facility is in eccense like finding a good doctor. Important is the fact to introduce a mutual understanding and being able to talk to the tech who is servicing your car personaly. Communication is the backbone to a possitive outcome. Sorry about not being able to pin point a shop within your area.
