Well it looks like this winter I get to finally buy an M50 and make the swap. I know I could go with an S50 or S52 but I am deciding to stick with the m50. Just simpiler dealing with only one throttle valve, and also a lot cheaper. This is my daily driver so I dont need to have it belching a lot of power. I am going to use the tranny thats allready in my car, unless I can find a sweet deal on a newer one.

So do you guys recommend sticking with the stock m50 fuel injection or just upgrading it to an aftermarket system? What are some good checks/mods to do to an M50 while it is out of the car? I do not want to deal with VANOS either, just wanna get rid of the ETA engine and have some more power. I am figuring that an M50 powered E30 will be all the power that I am going to need, this car allready scoots pretty good with the ETA in it.

What gear ratio should I go with? I do use this car to deliver pizza.... so I do want to try to get some decent gas milease, I do really like the mileage the ETA gets.

So I am ready for your guys's opinions. From the way it sounds, it does not sound like all that difficult of a swap. Sounds like the most challenging thing is getting the fuel injection wired back up.

Later,

Aaron

DO the M50's run pretty good and not rev to high with the 3.73's? I do have a rear end that has a 3.91 out of an early 318i. It is an open diff though, does not have a limited slip. I do have a limit slip in my car now... just its got the eta 2.92 gears.

I am looking for more power but I also am considering that this is a daily driver. I wanna keep some decent gas mileage.
