Starting Problems are getting to be too much!!

This car is killing me! [mad] I just put in a new fuel pump and sending unit, a complete tune up to include plugs and wires. Now its.....having issues starting like it was about 2 weeks ago, except its almost every time I get in it. It happens Hot or Cold..but mostly hot after its ran for a few minutes. This is far from normal for this car!! It usually fires within the first rotation and has ran like this for last 40 K miles without missing a beat. Its only got 111K on it now.

I have not spared on maintenance or parts... way too many to mention! The interior is almost flawless and once I put in new seats and carpet kit ...it will be excellent. This car has above average paint but and would bring 4k to 4.5 K except its got a rebuilt title!! Every thing works, windows, locks, sunroof, all the computer info, nice CD player and its getting about 23 in town when driven mild and 19.5 when pushing it. She has passed every vehicle inspection undertaken. Its pulled almost 28 on the highway at 70 mph. Its got new Bilsteins too. Ride is solid! I've got at least 8K in it now with parts / labor ( most of it mine) and several shop trips to Executive Auto in Woodbridge, VA . I paid 3k for it with 87k on the car when I bought it 3 years ago.

Once this issue is fixed its gone! I could have a nice 92-95 M3 for what I've spent so far!
I'm done...sorry its been one of those days. [screwy] But come spring she will be looking for another home![bmwdance]

Any thoughts on what Might be causing this starting problem...funny thing is most of the common stuff that causes this issue is new on the car. Its also not throwing any codes on the machine either! My Mech thinks it the brain (computer) going bad? Its less than a year old now!![burnout]

Signed....Going insane!![?|][?|]

I think I mentioned on your previous thread about the engine loom plug located below the inlet manifold. Bad connections with that plug can cause problems exactly as you describe. Also, even though it sounds preposterous since the car is turning over, a faulty starte motor may also be the problem. I had one that had a bad earth and it would just turn over and over and then start on the second or third try. A mate told me to swap out the starter motors. I thought it a bit of a tall story, but when I went to swap the old one out I noticed that it was not earthed properly. I fixed the earth and the problem went away.

Ok

I've doubled checked all the grounds again. I pulled the engine loom plug and cleaned and re-installed all the ground(earth) conections. It seems to be starting fine now and is not idleing down now. Even when I run the piss out of her and she's hot! ...did I mention I put bilsteins on her! sweet[clap]

If it surfaces again...I'll replace the starter.

Again, thanks guys for the info! I'm not quite as pissed at the rooster now! Why!!!!Do I love hate this car so much!![spank]

I also just installed a new trunk cover! Pics on the next post!

Zdaneman sends[cheers]
