remus exhaust

earlier i posted a thread asking about experience with the supersprint exhaust. it seems it
isn't all it's cracked up to be.

how about remus? can anyone give personal info on remus exhaust? does it increase h.p.?

how does it sound? is it worth the $$$$?

i have a Remus on my 1.9, the original muffler was an insult IMO. it sounded like a riding mower with gas. the Remus is not loud by any means, but it does seem to be "loosening up" a bit. it got installed as a replacement during the rebuild of my Z3 after being totalled. as far as being "worth the $$$$," are you nuts???? $650+ for a muffler? i would find a universal muffler that i like and have it installed, or do it myself. maybe a Supertrap? it's not exactly rocket science, and shouldn't cost like it is either! i wonder how loud it would be without a muffler? maybe just a resonator would sound nice?

Here is a link to a bunch of info on fitting SuperSprint, Remus, Tri-Flo and a custom Borla. Look at the different pic's of Stock and aftermarket and figure out if yours looks the same as any. There are a number of different stock systems and all will have different out comes. I also think I would agree that the custom system would give you the most bang for the buck. The fact that all of the bolt on systems crunch the tube as it passes under the rear end just like the stock one kind of throughs everything out the window for your tubing size.

remus is great!

just wanted to let those interested know that i made the decision to go with remus. also an ecis cold air intake. wow! what a difference! as the exhaust breaks in it just gets better. its getting a more throaty sound every day.
and with the cold air intake, it REALLY growls! under full throttle it really
sounds hot.
