I've had an '89 325i for a few months now and I really like it. The manual however says nothing about how to reset the dash lights, namely the change oil one. So my oil is fresh but I still have to look at the light every time I drive. Getting annoying.

You either need to buy the reset tool, pay a dealer to do it or find one of the "wire jumping" links by googling it. There is a post in this section here somewhere on it. Try searching this site for the fix. Here is a link that may help BMW E30 Network
