Hello all.
Newby here, but not for long
I'm here because I need some advise on rims for my car. I started out last week by doing some internet research on new tires. After some time decided to go with a Goodyear Assurance triple tread. After having them installed, there was a noticable hop in the back end at higher speeds. Went back and the tire store showed me where the rim had been bent on inside edge. This was causing the hop. They came up with the idea of using the full sized spare as a replacement rim and it was bent in the same spot even worse Is this a somewhat common problem with BMW rims???
Here's my options as I see them. 1-Try to find one replacement rim, or 2- put on a set of custom rims. I priced out a new rim thru BMW and it was going to run about $400 for one rim, ouch! I also found a "reconditioned" one, but it was still in around $300, still ouch! At this point I was leaning toward a new set of custom rims, but found out that there seems to be a limited selection of 16 x 7 with the correct offset...Grrrr. Has anyone gone thru this before me? and what did you end up doing?
Thanks in advance, B
