rubber drive axle thingy

Anyone know what that rubber thing is called that is between the tranny and the drive axle? My wheels "bounce" when i rip tire and i heard that replacing it will fix it. I need to know the name of it to find one.

Also can you recommend a good place to purchase one if you have experience getting it? Dealer or web, ebay, part store, etc.

i think it is a rubber flange or a flex disc. bmw uses it instead of the u-joints.

yep, "guibo" is the magical word...the flex disc behind the tranny.

Yes I've had it go on me before. Looks ugly if it's bad. All that holds it together at that point is a bunch of threads. If it is still all in one piece it is probably ok.

And your car will bounce even if you go easy on the clutch if it's bad.
