Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan...I dunno about you guys, but after reading all those posts about malfunctions with E30s, I'd like to lighten the mood. But first I have to make it worse.
So I had this wire malfuction with my brake pad sensor. I replaced the brakes, replaced the sensors...what else was there to do? Well, I know full well when my pads/rotors are going. So, I decided it was pretty safe to just pull the light out. Now the light's in the instrument cluster which is behind the steering wheel, which needs to come off. I have an after-market MOMO racing wheel, and the horn is a plastic piece dead center. Long story short, plastic horn assembly broke. I'm left with the wheel, the cover, and a huge mess of wires. So i have a huge hole in my steering wheel for a week or so. I cover it up with ducttape on the inside. Looks Okay...not SO obvious that I was an idiot. So I'm sitting there waiting for a friend to meet me in a parking lot and I was thinking i should at least find something circular to put in there. All i could find was a rubber, but luckily, the wrapper was clear on one side. So, clear side up, i tape it in there and then set up all the wires appropriately (MOMO could have made that a lot less complicated). But at least it works now.
So now, when someone's in my way, or doing something stupid, i press a condom in the middle of the steering wheel. =) It's actually kind of dangerous...I laugh everytime I look at my steering wheel. Anyway, hope that cheers you up a bit. Nothing's broken on my car yet. Oh I take that back.
