You can replace any run-flat with other than run-flats. I do not believe anyone makes a run-flat snow tire, but I amy be wrong!

I just checked Tire Rack and I am wrong, here is a link to run-flat snow tires at the Rack: Tire Rack

They do, Dunlop makes them as well as Bridgestone, it depends though if you have anything bigger than 17s it will be hard to get a combination for the wheels front and rear.

My suggestion is to get a new set of rims (cheap snow rims) and swap the tires off between summer and snow tires. It will be hard to get them though because they stopped making winter tires but good luck.

Now im confused. They stoped making snow tires? Maybe you can prove me wrong but I think your wrong with that one. Maybe in the states everyone wants all seasons but here in Germany there is nothing better than a good set of winter tires.
Your suggestion about smaller rims is dead on, but I would never save on winter tires. There is a difference.
