I just bought this 540 about 2 months ago. It was kept clean but tons of swirl marks. Obvously a car wash victim. I finally did a full detail. Check it out! (sorry no before pics:
De-badged the rear !!! : used hair dryer and soft plastic putty knife used for bondo repairs then laquer thinner to get adhesive off followed by quick wash off.
Washed with dish soap
Mothers Clay Bar (on windows too!)
P21S paint cleanser polish with random buffer
Mothers Sealer/glaze with buffer
P21S Carnuba wax by hand: Goes on like butter and off very easily with clean towel.
Rain-ex wipes on all windows (combined with clay bar makes super-smooth!)
Used microfiber towels all around. They are cool!
Unfortunately there are still some watermarks etched. I'm guessing this damage was done early on and would take some SERIOUS buffing to get out....maybe next time.
The wheels have some seriously old grime on them but managed to get most of it off.
