SOS! My sound system needs bass..but where?

My car came with the standard audio, and let's just say I'm underwhelmed. Anyway, the high and midrange seem OK but bass in muffled or non-existant. I prefer my tunes with a bit more kick.

Has anyone figured out the best place for a small sub without grabbing most of the trunk? It's a leased car so I don't want more than a rudimentary install that I can swap out easily. Any ideas?

Great idea using the stock rear deck wells. Sadly, the site notes that convertibles are out of luck. Seems to encroach upon the soft top storage compartment.

Anyone have experience with a Bazooka 8 or 10inch 150 watt tube, or the 200W Infinity 10 inch with rectangular enclosure? I heard the 3 series trunk is well insulated from the cabin.

Under seat's not a bad idea!

The Kenwood KSC-WA62RC "wOOx " looks good. The whole thing is only 15 3/16" x 4 5/8" x 8 1/4," and comes with its own built-in amp that Kenwood rates at 100 watts. Supposed to be one of the smallest subs available (5 1/4 active sub drives a 6.5 inch radiator)

Anyone have under-seat subs or know how much space is available under the driver and passenger seat?

Circuit City wanted $520 for an installed Infinity Bassline 200W 10inch but admitted I would hardly hear it through the back seats, especially with the top down. I'd rather go smaller but keep the subs in the cabin.

I'm going to be buying the Infiniti Basslink sometime this summer, i've been impressed with what that little thing can do. DrJake, 520 dollars? You can buy them for 130 on ebay brand new.

Circuit City makes their buck on a $100 install charge and $100 "installation kit". Speaker was just over $300. Maybe it was when the installation manager eyebrows went up when he heard M3...

CC did my install on my system (all inifinity kappa perfects ) but they said that they will uninstall it and reinstall the stock system for free too, and like you said it is leased so they should be able to take out everything for free, just keep the reciept
