Hmmm, that seems odd. My 1996 Z3 has one, and I'm pretty sure all Z3's have one. My spare is located on the underside of the car, near the rear bumper. Instructions for releasing the spare are located with the jack, in the trunk.
Now that seems really odd... Why would BMW supply a jack, but no spare? I've heard the Z4 comes with run flats and a can of sealant. I think the M3 does also, so maybe M roadster does also.
I painted my calipers finally. I found my spare. It was tucked away under there pretty good. I also hacked off my brake sensor while wire brushing my caliper. Not bad in a day's work.
I bought it online....G2auto, I think. Just put in caliper paint in yahoo. You should be able to find it pretty easy. It comes with a lifetime guarantee.
My 97 2.8 had a spare, but the 98 M I have now does not. Bonzo is mostly correct all non M roadsters have spares. The 98 M did not come with run flats or a pump, but I have them now! I even bought a jack from e-Bay and put it the M's trunk!
