Hey guy's just wondering what some of you are using for plugs and which are the best for our cars? I using the basic bosh plugs, my mechanic says they are fine. I wanted a better start and was thinking of running Bosh +4's. What are you guy's running??? [driving2]

I have a 92 3 series...I had no luck with plat 4's..I took them out after 2 days. I put a set of champion coppers in, and the car runs just fine..It cost me about the same for a set of champions that I had paid for one Plat 4...bonus

I've used regular Bosch, the Platinum 2s, and Platinum 4s...out of all of them, I feel the Plat 2s ran the best. The engine was the most responsive under load, and pretty much under all conditions.

From what I've heard, the Plat 4s put too much strain on the e30's electrical system. Mostly that they can't carry enough current to produce a good enough spark. Personally, I don't have factual evidence to substanciate that, but I can tell you that the engine doesn't feel as good as it does with the singles, and no tnearly as good as the 2s. I'm currently running 2s.

I'm about to replace the platinum 4's by the OEM two element BOSCH plugs. I have had the 4'2 for about 6 months and felt a little hesitation under heavy load. Tomorrow I´ll let you know about the ney feeling with the OEM SP's. [;)]

I have the regular old Bosch Platinums in mine - the original single electrode kind. The car runs great with them. I tried the single electrode Bosch Platinums a few years back in my Camaro, and it ran like total crud with them. It's amazing how different brands/models of spark plugs can affect performance.

I use the standard Bosch Plat's too. Have good luck with them, I get 23-25 miles to the gallon while I deliver pizza and about 33 miles to the gallon on the highway.

I once read that the E30's with the 2.7l Eta engine ran best with bosch plat's while the later 325i witht he 2.5l ran best witht the factory plugs. Read something about the two different cumbustion chamber designs and pistongs. The ETA has flat top pistons while the 2.5l has domed pistons and a different compbustion chambers. Just what I read, dont quote me on this.

All I know is my '87 325 with an ETA gets thos gas mileage figures that I stated above with platinum plugs. My car also has 212,000 miles on it now. Not bad gas mileage, better then most of the other delivery drivers. Later

Oh JRT you got one of the most bad ass chevys ever made in my opinion. Right up there with tthe '65 corvette GS in my opinion
