My 89 325I has a pass seat issue in that when you sit on it and attempt to adjust the angle of the backrest, you push or pull the side lever but only the outer side of the backrest releases. I removed the seat and when you move the lever, it rotates a lever that is supposed to in turn rotate a shaft that goes to the inner side of the seat. Unfortunately, the inner and the outer do not work together as if the connecting shaft is broken??? Is this shaft keyed, splined, or ???
I just bought this E30 and am finding a lot of annoying issues but I will try to limit my questions to just one a day!!hehehehe
Anyone have a picture of a sport seat bottom stripped of the cushing so I can see what it is supposed to look like before I tear mine apart?
Thanks----Warren

That's what E30 are all about! :) Welcome to the club! Unfortunately, I've never had that problem, so I can't tell you how to fix it. However, you'll have about 25,000 other little annoying problems, and we should be able to cover most of them.[cheers]

Joseph, those seats might not be in his car though. Not all sport seats are Recaro's.

Best check the other seat diagrams too, just in case. Better yet, pop the back of the seat cover off and check it out... then you'll know what you're dealing with.

I've had the backrest cover off---you can't tell what is wrong because you can't see the shaft as it is under/within the rear part of the seat. One side will rotate as designed but the other end doesn't which means something is broken between the sides. What I don't know is if it is a solid shaft, or a hollow shaft that somewho either strips out or broke.
