I have a 94 525i. Car vitrates and shakes a lot when applying brakes at 8okm and up (Hiway speed). Tires ok. Installed new rotors and pads all around and problem persists. Mechanic says front suspension seem ok. Any suggestions. Thanks

did you install the rotors yourself if not make sure the place that did didnt cut them i had mine cut up front and they lasted a couple of weeks fortunatly i didnt pay to have this done in my opinion anything 1990+ comes with throw away rotors they just arent as thick as the used to be

Trust me, it is going to be one of the front rotors even if they are new. A Wagner brake products rep told me if the rotors are laid down flat at the parts stores, they can warp after a long period of time in that postion. Through the years I have encounterd brand new rotors that were warped when test driving a customer's vehicle. If you did the work yourself then simply take both front rotors back for an exchange. Also clean up your caliper pins/slides and apply caliper slide grease on them to prevent any premature wear or warpage.

We had the same problem with our 94 530i. They were not our rotors. It was the rubber gromets associated with the entire front suspension system. Over time, as we were told, and saw when removed, they wear to the point that severe vibration occurs, especially at speeds above 50 miles per hour. They replaced tie-rod ends as well which also were worn. The combination of made the vibrations go away. Not sure if this is your issue, but worth a try, and much cheaper than replacing rotors again.

New rotors warped..

New rotors installed in front by my trusted mechanic. Right rotor warped. Reordered new ones and installed and now working perfect. Thanks for all the replies.

Dear friend, shake maybe gone for now, but I promise it will come back if you do not replace the tire inner rods and control arm bushings.

best,
