stupid emissions tests

my stupid 84 318i wont pass emissions. I have replaced the ecu, the airflow meter, the oxygen sensor, and the spark plugs and it still fails. Im thinking it is the mixture control. Any suggestions on how i can lean it out?

Adjust the throttle position sensor and check for any vacuume leaks.

If its anything like a 325, there should be a screw on the AFM to adjust the mixture. also, does it have a catylitic converter? if it does, that could be the problem.
