I took delivery of a new 2004 525i three weeks ago. I had previously owned the previous model and had been delighted with it. The first day I drove my new car I thought the suspension was inferior to my old car. It seemed smooth enough over large bumps and ruts in the road but restless moving across relatively good roads. I seemed also to occasionally to develop a lateral minor bounciness on certain road surfaces. Is this my imagination brought on by concentrating on the ride too much or has anyone else any experience? I never had an issue with my old car's suspension. The reviews for the new model say it has a "creamy smooth ride". I have not heard one criticism of it. I have the standard 16inch wheels that are supposed to give a better ride than the larger ones. P.S. the dealer suggests ithe car is riding normally.
