Switching From Zaino to Liquid Glass?

Hey,

I've been using Zaino for a while now. Every 3 months, I apply one coat of Z-2 and Z-5 mixed with ZFX, and spray Z-6 all over in between application of each coat. Then I use the Z-9 and Z-10 leather cleaner and conditioner and take care of the leather. This has been giving me great results, but it's not really economical and the application process is a bit tedious, mainly when cleaning and conditioning the leather.
Anyways, I'm thinking of switching to Liquid Glass and their line of products. I plan to follow the same 3-month pattern, but with Liquid Glass products. Use the Pre-Cleaner once a year and apply two coats of Liquid Glass every 3 months. Also I want to use their Leather, Vinyl, & Rubber Cleaner and their Leather, Vinyl, & Rubber Protectant, which will take the places of the Z-9 and Z-10 Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner. It is much cheaper and I will be able to clean and protect my dash and other interior parts with the two products.
Overall, it will be significantly cheaper and easier to apply. What do you all think? Stick with Zaino, or make the change? Not that Zaino hasn't been GREAT, but I think this might be a good move on my part. Anybody have any good reasons for me to stick with Zaino?

Thanks,

Zaino, in the long run is MUCH cheaper to use.

I can seal a car and wheels using 1/4oz of Z-2, Z-5 or Z-3 (I apply Zaino with a syringe so I can moniter how much was used during some of my tests:)

Zaino lasts 3-6 months, depending on weather.

So an 8oz bottle lasts me an average of 32 applications, say 4 months average protection, which translates into 8 years of protection...,

Even if you used 2x as much, You would still have a 4 year supply:)

(just doing the math:)

Yes, that's true. But maybe Liquid Glass only requires you to use the same amount...then what? And I'm way too generous with my polish as I use 2 ounces every time I wax. [bath]
waynestowels, do you use Zaino on your car(s)? What do you use and what's your favorite?

Sorry guys I am still a loyal Zymol user. When the wife and I took the roadster out today we got caught in a big down pour, at 80 mph the car was dry as soon as the rains stopped. It was cool watching the beads of water come over the hood and eventually disappear.

I apply the Zymol once every other month and strip the car every third time. It is fast and easy...of course it is a small car too!

"Even "if" you used the same amount, Zaino would still be cheaper to use because of the "super durability""

I use several products, depending on what I am looking for at the time...,
My favorite products to use-

Einszett Glanz synthetic wax- The easiest to use, more durable than carnuba, does not stain trim, almost as fast to apply as a QD!!!

Zaino- The most durable sealant out there.

It just depends what results I am looking for..., it is one or the other(and God knows I have access to 100's of others in the storeroom (I have spent the last 2 years testing products for my own knowledge of products)

waynestowels, thanks for the info, I think I will definitely stick to Zaino just because I am so pleased with its performance (making my car shiny and protecting it), as well as its ability to apply one coat after another when using ZFX, rather than waiting 24 hours before applying another coat.

Big Daddy, I keep trying to give Zymol a chance, but they have such a terrible web site. I move my mouse over their products and each product has its own weird name that has absolutely nothing to do with what the product actually does. They have so many different products and I always get too frustrated to learn what each one does so I say "F it" and stick to Zaino.

My only problem with Zaino auto polish is that I feel like the Z-2 and Z-5 do more harm to my clear-coat than good. Whenever I'm buffing off the wax after letting it haze over, I find new swirl marks all over the place!

Remember Zymol is a German product and they say things different than us. I got one of their books and read it, still not an expert, but my 91 318is (recently sold....) had 160k on her and people thought the paint was brand new. It was all original and perfect. It was Zymol protected from day one.

I am sure there are better products and different approaches, I just like this one and feel safe using it. Old habit maybe?

Guy's,

There is a reason the "swirls" are more noticable with Zaino-
Zaino has no "fillers" like a carnuba.

Zaino is a "showcar" sealant and is optically perfect.
On showcars, you want to see the actual paint that the custom painter has worked so hard to get perfect..., so you are seeing "the real thing" with Zaino.

with a carnuba, there are fillers and olis that help hide and fill in small imperfections, so there is a short lived period that the oils fill in the areas you are speaking of..., however, they are still there..., that is what I like about Zaino, you know what the real paint looks like.

IMO, it is best to prep with high quality polish like Einszett before applying Zaino.
When your paint is "really" slick and the flaws are removed..., then it is time for Zaino to "really shine through" :)

Try it out and let us know your thoughts:)
