switchtronic pattern change

i own a 98 528iA and a 2002 520iA, both with the switchtronic automatic gearbox.
some genius changed the direction in which to move the gearlever to switch up and down in the sport-mode. is there anyway i could change this in one of the cars, so that they both shift the same way?

hey, welcome to the site. most of us will blame your shifting woes on chris bangle. i bet you could take it to a shop and have it done, but that sounds kind of shady. i'm not sure how the bmw auto's work, but it'd be great if you could just disassemble your console and flip some wires. but flipping some wires sounds just as bad as taking it to some shop.
