ok, so im installing a set of slotted disk brakes on my 320 this week. i finally got some cash put aside to do it. ill be sure to post a few pix when i get to it hopefully thursday or friday. my question to everyone is this: the car is already going to be off the ground in order to do the brake job. i figured it might be a good idea to drain the rear dif and tranny fluid. im sure niether has been replaced and my car is an '82. i thought it may be a good idea to change them out. i have heard that the older bimmers (ie 2002, 320i & earily E30) dont take well to synthetic oils. i obvioulsy know that there is a differance between engine oil and tranny fluid, but does anyone know if my car will have the same problem later on? this is a pretty random question and maybe im just a retard but i figured at the exspence of me looking stupid id ask.

I don't understand the question. Please be specific when asking a question about possible problems? The idea that synthetic motor oil doesn't do well in older BMW's is wrong. I could spent a lot of time talking about the subject but would rather have you spend some time at

im just trying to find out if the synthitic gear fluid would be best to use. ive heard that older bimmers dont take well to synthetic oil. what i wasnt sure was if the same went for any other types of synthetic oils (gear, rear diff). thats all i just wanted to see what others views on the subject were and if anyone could answer my question. sorry i wasnt clear in the first place.
