Hi all,

I am just wondering whether there is any better way to take care the brake dust. I have seen some Wheel Wax products from some asian auto shops which could help you easily remove those brake dust just by rinse it and no rubbing. From my local auto part shops, I could only found varies brands for wheel polish.. but wax. Also, I have heard that other people suggests of using brake cover to prevent brake dust of going onto your wheels, which I personally think is not a good idea... By the way, the wheels that I have is just the painted 17" wheels that came with the sport package.

Do you guys have good tips on that??!! cuz bi-daily wheel cleaning really isn't a very good idea. [:(] Should I just go change the brake pad instead??

Thank you all!!

There is no real way to stop it, although there are a couple of "tricks" to make cleaning easier.

1- Replace you pads with the new dustless brake pads(they are not really totally dustless, but dramatically reduce brake dust.

2- Apply a good sealant to the wheels(wheel wax does not work, as wax melts between 130 - 180 degrees, whereas a polymer sealant has a MUCH higher melting point. (I have a jar of wheel wax and tested it against sealants and there was a bid difference in durability.
I recommend Zaino, Klasse or Einszett Glanz, as they are all synthetic, high durability products and make cleaning wheels much easier(great for your paint too!)

I recently started using Zymol. Two step system with a wheel cleaner followed by a protectanct spray. So far I like it. They even include a little brush in their kit to agitate the cleaner with.

I've heard really good things about Porterfield brake pads and plan to use them when I change my pads in a couple months.
