I'm thinking about getting this 2003 M3 coupe, SMG, NAV, 19", Premium Pkg, HK sound, silver trim.. I just want to know if there's any particular questions I should ask the dealer? I heard that some 2002 M3s had a recall on the smg and rod bearings, would this 2003 car be affected at all? Even though it's a 2003, it was actually built in late 2002. Should I make sure the car had the breakin-service done? I heard there's a 1200 mile breakin service where they flush all your fluids..

Here is a link to the vehicle: http://www.jemmotorcorp.com/detail.cfm?iid=642694&anchor=/2003/BMW/M3/Coupe/#

What do you guys think? How about the color? Price? If anything stands out, please let me know..Thanks in advance!

Some more questions came to mind..

I'm also curious about the 19" wheels, do they offer any benefits other than looks, perhaps the ride is different or performance/cornering? Any disadvantages? Also, I noticed the SMG does not actually say "sMg" under the knob like I've seen on some, what does that mean? Are the 2003 models any different on the interior/exterior than say 2001 - 2004? Thanks in advance!!

Unless you are buying directly from a private party, its going to be hard to know if they truly broke it in properly. The salesman is probably going to tell you what you want to hear. A good way to tell if the car has been well-maintained is to find out if the previous owner performed the 1200 mile service at the recommended time.

In terms of finding the best price, check out KBB.com. I think around $45k for that car would be a good buy.

In additional to looks, 19" wheels do offer better performance over 18". The only drawback is that the ride is going to be slightly rougher.

The 2003 should be identical to the previous years with the exception of having LED rear lights on the latter '03 models.
