Tire Alignment

Howdy folks! New to the forum. Hope someone can help:

I am the original owner of a 1998 528i sport, 5-speed manual. 106k miles. Never a mechanical or eletrical problem.

I have excessive wear on the extreme insides of my front tires. I thought this was due to driving them with low pressure (22psi) for many miles (long story), but my mechanic thinks it's an alignment issue. Anyone else with the sport suspension hear of this?

Am having 4 new Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z'z installed Friday, and want everything perfect for the install, to get maximum performance and life out of the new set.

Any advice?

Low tire pressure would cause the tires to wear on the outside and inside, however many places will check your alignment for free. Considering your going to be replacing them soon I would have the alignment checked and corrected if need be, and it sounds like it need be.

Thanks for the speedy response. My mechanic already said he was doing the alignment. Just wanted to see if this was a known issue. My wear pattern on the front is only on the inside, so it must be the alignment.
